Michelle Wooddell – Founder & Principal

With more than 20 years of marketing, management, and fundraising experience in Detroit’s nonprofit sector, Michelle has been the centerpiece of several major campaigns for multiple institutions throughout Michigan, raising millions and exceeding campaign goals.  

She holds a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) certification and received a Ph.D. in Nonprofit Management and serves on the faculty at Grand Valley State University where her research includes the intersection of the public, private and nonprofit sectors and fundraising efficacy. In her spare time, she manages to get in a midday game of doubles tennis, loves dogs, and going to Disney World.

Heather Carmona – Managing Director 

Heather brings more than 25 years’ experience working  throughout the public-private, philanthropic and nonprofit sector.  She’s held executive-level positions as both Chief Administrative Officer and Executive Director and is well versed in economic and community development, education, government, social impact, and health and human services organizations. Heather oversees and supports the core branch teams with all aspects of client engagement and service delivery.

In her spare time, Heather serves as Chairperson of her city’s Parks and Recreation Board, volunteers on the Board of her local YMCA,  enjoys open water swimming and watching extreme sports and adventure travel documentaries.

Cara Freitag – Program Manager, Nonprofit Services

Cara brings strong marketing and event management experience to the Nonprofit Spot team.

Working with a number of Detroit’s non-profits, she has managed fundraisers, galas, and events of all sizes.

Cara’s keen attention to detail and ability to multitask makes for a great program manager! Cara loves to travel and is always on the move with her two sports enthusiast children!
